  • Dwight Becker was born in 1956 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
  • Graduated Iowa State University, BS Hotel & Restaurant Management
  • Certified Wine & Spirits Education Trust Level 2
  • Started in the restaurant business in 1970 at Kings Food Host as a busboy and promoted to dishwasher/carhop within three months
  • While still in high school he was on a team that opened a new Ramada Inn Convention Center implementing everything from hardware storage to dining room policy
  • First job after graduation was Assistant Manager at Sonnenalp Hotel in Vail where he was quickly promoted to Catering Sales Manager
  • After 3 years moved to Denver to manage a restaurant/jazz club, Bay Wolf
  • Began seriously studying wine and in 1984 changed career paths to wine & spirits sales in Denver
  • 1991-1994 Division Sales Manager, Paterno Imports
  • 1994-1999 District Sales Manager, Western Distributing of Colorado
  • 1999-2001 Route Sales Manager, Frito Lay

  • Greg Cutchall was born in 1952 in Tucson, Arizona
  • Enlisted US Naval Reserve 1971
  • Attended University of Nebraska –Omaha
  • Began his career in the industry in 1971 at Kentucky Fried Chicken in Omaha
  • He was manager, catering manager, marketing director, and Vice President
  • Greg organized leveraged buy-out of the 12 locations and became President/CEO and 20% partner1986
  • Sold out of Kentucky Fried Chicken in 1989 and started Cutchall Management Company with one Julio’s in Lincoln followed by over 100 restaurants opened or acquired over the next 25 years
  • Founder of the following hospitality concepts: The Exchange, Bum Steer Steaks, Rib Ranch, Cat Daddy’s, Burger Star, Big Cheese, and Progressive Park
  • Co-founder of: Kith & Kin Southern Kitchen, Omaha Design Center, and Salty Senorita in Scottsdale

Tom Lynch was born in 1940 in Omaha, Nebraska

Began his hospitality career, while attending college, at the Playmaker Lounge
Became a co-owner of the Playmaker Lounge with Bob McCormack 1968-1975
Opened Tiger Tom’s Pub 1976 and is currently the owner with his son Ryan
First President of United Retail Liquor Association of Nebraska (URLAN)
Co-founded March of Dimes Sno-ball tournament in 1978 which is now a national event
At height of “Beer League Softball” he sponsored 41 teams
Sponsored golf tournaments to support Madonna School and the American Cancer Society
Inducted into the following Halls of Fame: Omaha Softball Association, Marian High School and St. Bernard’s Catholic Church

Bio Information;

  • Ann Mellen was born in 1955, in Omaha, NE
  • Graduated Marian High School and University of Nebraska at Lincoln
  • Worked for her parents at M’s Pub all through high school and college
  • Started a career in Advertising at Lincoln Journal Star newspaper, KESY radio and Omaha Steaks
  • Began working at M’s Pub in 1980
  • Bought M’s Pub from her parents in 1985
  • Opened Vivace Restaurant in 1993
  • Sold Vivace in 2013
  • M’s Pub was destroyed in a gas explosion on January 9, 2016
  • Collaborated with BVH Architecture and Lund Ross Contractors to rebuild and restore M’s to its original state
  • Re-opened M’s Pub November 1, 2017
  • Chaired various Share Our Strength Committees for 7 years
  • Wine Spectator Awards 2000-2015
  • 1990 Omaha Chamber of Commerce “Small Business Award” recipient
  • 2003 Omaha Restaurant Association Restaurateur of the Year
  • In Ann’s time off you can find her riding her horses, gardening, traveling and scuba diving

Membership in the Hall of Fame is by nomination only, using criteria established by the Hall of Fame Board of Directors. 

To be nominated, candidates or their representative, must submit a complete official OHHOF  candidate Hall of Fame resume form. Once this form is completed and returned, the Admittance Committee will then consider the application.  The Admissions Committee is made up of past inductees who serve on a three year rotation. The committee consists of 7-9 members.

Membership in the Hall of Fame will consist of those that have been actively engaged in the hospitality profession for a substantial number of years, as well as their professional record and their contributions to the Omaha Area community. The Hall of Fame is considered an honor society and membership requires the utmost integrity.  Membership in the Hall of Fame may not be used for personal profit or aggrandizement of the individual, nor may any member exploit the HOF except for the benefit and profit of the HOF.

The Hall of Fame and it’s inductees are obligated to work toward good public relations for the Hall of Fame.
